I had been interested in photography for many years but didn’t get really serious about it until 2006 with the purchase of my first DSLR camera and then taking classes and earning a Certificate in Digital Photography at the Birmingham School of Photography. What fascinates me about photography is that it combines the artistic elements of composition, lighting and technique with the technical ones of exposure, post processing and computer usage. Thus, I combine my "engineer" side with my "artist" side to make my images.
Photographer Marc Riboud said “Photography is savoring life at one hundredth of a second”. My goal is to tell the stories and capture a moment in time of people and communities. I am mainly interested in sports/action, events, portraits, and maritime subjects. I am a retired Professional Engineer, Manager, SCUBA Instructor Trainer and USCG Licensed Captain. I live in Trussville, Alabama near Birmingham.
